Terms of Use

These conditions apply when a visitor uses Mississippi Court Docket, including its pages, links, and search tools. The site offers general information about Mississippi court dockets and ways to find the court or clerk that holds a record. It does not provide legal services or an official case system. Continuing to use the site means the visitor accepts the terms below; anyone who does not agree should stop using it.

NO FCRA USE. Mississippi Court Docket is privately operated and has no government or court affiliation. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provide consumer reports or screening services for credit, work, insurance, housing, or another purpose covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The service is a reference to public court information and is not a consumer reporting agency or private investigation firm.

1. What This Website Is

Mississippi Court Docket is an independent reference service. It does not keep official docket sheets or court files, and it cannot file a paper, retrieve a court record, or change a hearing date.

The site points readers to the statewide MEC/PAMEC access route, Mississippi court-system information, and county offices that maintain local case records. It may also link to outside search providers, which run their own services.

2. Informational Use Only

Material here is for general information about court dockets and records in Mississippi. It is not an official docket, a court order, or legal advice, and it cannot take the place of an attorney. Confirm a date, filing, or case status with the court or clerk holding that record.

Mississippi judicial files follow the Mississippi Supreme Court’s policy on openness and availability of public records and applicable court rules. The Mississippi Public Records Act of 1983, Miss. Code Ann. §§ 25-61-1 et seq., applies to covered public bodies outside the ordinary judicial case-file process. MEC’s Administrative Procedures govern electronic filing and system use, not every public-record request.

3. Rules for Using This Site

By using the site, you agree that you will not:

  • Use its information to threaten, harass, or stalk another person
  • Violate a federal, Mississippi, or local law
  • Try to enter a system or account without permission
  • Use site content for hiring, housing, lending, insurance, or another decision barred by these terms
  • Run a bot, scraper, or automated process against the pages
  • Disrupt access for other visitors or impair the site

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Mississippi Court Docket is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not prepare consumer reports, credit reports, or background reports. The site and its advertising partners do not provide screening services for work, housing, insurance, credit, or similar eligibility decisions. You may not use information from this site or a linked tool to:

  • Make a decision about a person’s credit or insurance rate
  • Determine whether someone may rent or apply for housing
  • Choose whether to hire, keep, or dismiss a worker
  • Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or government program
  • Make another decision governed by the FCRA

Anyone who needs a report for a regulated purpose must use a provider that complies with the applicable FCRA rules.

5. No Legal Advice

Nothing on this site creates an attorney-client relationship or gives advice about Mississippi law. A court notice, filing deadline, charge, or order can have case-specific effects that general material cannot address. Consult a licensed Mississippi attorney for advice about a particular matter.

6. Accuracy Is Not Guaranteed

All material is supplied on an “as is” basis. No promise is made that information is complete, correct, current, continuously available, or free from technical or security issues. Search results from an outside provider may also be incomplete or inaccurate.

Mississippi dockets can change as cases are filed, settings reset, orders entered, or access restrictions applied. A court entry seen earlier may no longer show the latest action. Check important facts with the office that holds the case before acting on them.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

The site may link to Mississippi court and clerk pages, legal aid groups, public record resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows a link, the external operator’s terms and data practices apply. Mississippi Court Docket does not control outside content, pricing, privacy practices, or service availability.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless a separate notice says otherwise, text, graphics, logos, and code are owned by Mississippi Court Docket or a content partner. Copying, distributing, changing, or reusing that material requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mississippi Court Docket is not responsible for damages arising from site use, including reliance on information found here or on a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to protect Mississippi Court Docket from claims, demands, or legal actions caused by your use of the site or your breach of these terms. This includes reasonable legal fees and related costs.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Mississippi. A dispute connected to use of the site must be brought in a court located in Mississippi.

12. Changes to These Terms

The terms may be revised from time to time. A new version takes effect when it is posted on this page.
